The Children’s Council
The Regional Interactive Guiding Hub & Training Society (RIGHTS) was established to create local and regional children’s councils to enable child participation within each community.
The Għargħur Local Council was the first in Malta to hold a council meeting under this new initiative. This effort provided a platform for children to engage in local governance, voice their opinions, and actively contribute to the development of their community. Through these meetings, young members are encouraged to learn about civic responsibilities, develop leadership skills, and understand the importance of active citizenship from an early age.
To continue promoting this initiative, representatives from the Malta Foundation for the Wellbeing of Society participated in one of the monthly meetings held by the Eastern Regional Council with the Executive Secretaries.
