Thrift Pop-Up
The Eastern Regional Council, in synergy with the Richmond Foundation hosted a Thrift Pop-Up event for both Black Friday (29th November 2024) and the following Saturday (30th November 2024).
Clothing bought during Black Friday contributes to environmental pollution through the extensive carbon emissions in production and transportation, chemical pollution from textile treatments, the release of microplastics, and the overflowing of landfills due to the “throwaway” culture of fast fashion. Thus, during these two days a pop-up thrift shop was open to the public; where second-hand clothing was sold, and all proceeds were donated to the Richmond Foundation.
During the event €936 were collected in aid of the Richmond Foundation.
