As part of the project, the Region worked with Mr. Gabriel Lia in order to create a piece of literature that will stand the test of time and act as a legacy element of the project. Mr. Gabriel Lia, over a period of a month, interviewed members of our Region’s active aging communities about their Christmas memories. Over a two-day period, the Eastern Regional Council hosted the European Committee of the Regions’ SEDEC Commission for conference on ‘Harnessing Generative Artificial Intelligence (AI) to Enhance Education, Employment, and Environmental Sustainability and a subsequent external meeting. This two day event took place at the AX Palace Hotel, Sliema.

On the 17th June 2025, the Eastern Regional Council held its Annual General Meeting at the Palace Hotel, Sliema.

In collaboration with the Birkirkara Local Council, Malta Railway Foundation, and MSPCA, the Eastern Regional Council hosted its first ever vibrant book fair filled with exciting reads and activities!

In celebration of tomorrow’s special day, the Eastern Regional Council’s Executive Secretary recently visited Local Councils across our region, presenting them with beautifully crafted flower-shaped candles and wax melts. This gesture symbolises our deep appreciation for their dedication and hard work in serving our communities.
Together, we honor the strength, resilience, and contributions of women everywhere.

During February and March the teams from the Eastern Regional Council, Gżira Local Council, and Pembroke Local Council came together to plant a total of 27 beautiful indigenous trees in Gżira and Pembroke. These trees, generously provided by Coast is Clear, were a heartfelt thank you for the amazing collaboration on multiple clean-ups during Clean-Up Month last September. Together, we’re making a greener, cleaner future!

The Eastern Regional Council, in synergy with the Richmond Foundation hosted a Thrift Pop-Up event for both Black Friday (29th November 2024) and the following Saturday (30th November 2024).

In support of the Pink October 2024 campaign, the Eastern Regional Council is hosting an exciting afternoon of Tombla games! Along with the fun, we’re dedicating this event to raising awareness about breast cancer.
