The National STEM Community Fund, administered by Esplora Interactive Science Centre on behalf of Xjenza Malta, continues to strengthen grassroots science engagement, with a notable increase in both funding and participation for 2025. This year’s nine selected projects were officially announced during a press event held on Thursday 31st July, which brought together key stakeholders to celebrate and highlight the awarded initiatives. The Fund supports community-based projects rooted in STEM, aiming to promote research, education, science communication, and citizen science.
The Eastern Regional Council is proud to announce that its project, Cosmic Connections: Bridging Communities Through Astronomy, developed in collaboration with The Astronomical Society of Malta, was one of only nine initiatives selected for funding under Esplora Interactive Science Centre’s STEM Community Fund. This initiative aims to inspire curiosity and foster stronger community ties through the wonders of the universe.
