Bolol Reġjonal
In 2022, the Eastern Regional Council launched its first regional stamp collection, titled “Bolol Reġjonali”. This project emerged from a lively discussion about the unique plant species associated with each locality in the Eastern Region, both historically and in present times. The idea was to create a stamp set for each locality, featuring these plants alongside significant local landmarks.
“Bolol Reġjonali” showcases 12 paintings, one representing each locality in the Eastern Region of Malta. Each artwork depicts a historical landmark or iconic location, complemented by endemic or indigenous flora native to the area or capable of thriving there. The artist, Ms. Lara Vella, has also added a whimsical touch by including snails in the paintings, encouraging viewers to examine the detailed work closely.
