The Eastern Regional Council successfully collaborated with Piscopo Gardens on 7 educational school visits and another 2 community events across our Region, benefiting 430 Year 3 students. The participating schools were: STC Achille Ferris Msida Primary School, St Francis School Msida, Il-Kulleġġ San Ġorġ Preca, Skola Primarja J. Hookham Frere, Pieta‘ ,Stella Maris College Gzira, St Monica Gzira, Verdala International School Pembroke and St. Dorothy’s Junior School Sliema, while the community events were held at Swieqi and Hal Gharghur.

All school visits took place during the months of February 2026 – May 2026. Each event was split into two parts, with the first part being a fun interactive presentation session carried out by members from Piscopo Gardens, while the second part being a hands-on herb and seed planting session. The aim of the event was to teach students about the importance and diversity of plants, seeds and the natural world, while strengthening the bond between them and nature. Piscopo Gardens also generously gave vouchers to all participating students, to purchase their own plants from their premises.

As a Region we give great importance to such projects, aiming to continue increasing environmental awareness especially for the future generations. The project was received very well by both students and teachers, and we look forward to collaborating on more interesting and environmentally friendly initiatives.
